Trustee since 2015 Deputy Mayor since 2017
My support for the Village of Lansing government began when I redesigned their website in 2013. Since then, I have dedicated time and energy to support the Village as an elected trustee and an appointed deputy mayor.
My Village service extended to chairing two Village committees: the Greenway Committee and the Climate Smart Communities Committee. I also represent the Village in county committees: the Joint Youth Commission, the Youth Services Board, the County Health Consortium, the Watershed Intermunicipal Organization, the Council of Governments, and the Airport Air Services Board.
If elected, my priorities as mayor will be to:
The skills needed from a mayor include leadership, foresight, risk management, facilitation, consensus building, and transparency. My personal and professional experience as a manager and small business owner provide a foundation in these skills to strengthen the Village government, to attract residents and businesses, and to foster municipal, county, and state relationships.
My vision for the Village includes mentoring leadership skills with the Village board members and staff for long-term succession-planning, transitioning Village facilities and vehicles to clean energy use, proactively attracting new retail businesses, preparing for and mitigating severe climate events, and increasing Village walkability by expanding sidewalks, trails, walkways, and greenways.
I ask for your vote on April 27th so that I can continue to work for you and the future of our Village.
